Benjamin Franklin Carpenter was born October 18, 1876, on a farm near Cuba, Kansas, and died at the home of his parents at Agenda, Kans., on May 24, 1927, at the age of fifty years, seven months, and six days.
He was united in marriage to Miss Jessie June Burr on July 18, 1899, and to this union was born one daughter.
Mr. Carpenter received his schooling at the Cuba school. Twenty years of his life were spent in railroading in different capacities. He was a man of clean habits and was liked by all who knew him.
He was a member of the I. O. O. F., Woodmen, and the Eagle lodges, and also belonged to the Volunteer Fireman Association of Nebraska.
He leaves to mourn his loss, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles T. Carpenter of Agenda, Kans.; one daughter, Miss Lena Carpenter of Long Beach, Calif; one sister, Mrs. Earl Miller of Omaha, Nebr., sis brothers, Amasa of Cuba, Charles T., Jr. of Cuba, Albert L. of Morral, Ohio, Paul of Cuba, Tarley B., of McCook, Nebr., Lewellyn of Agenda Kans.; and many other relatives and a host of friends.
The funeral services were held at Agenda May 28, at one o'clock in the afternoon conducted by Rev. Bond of Haworth. Interment was made in the Willoughby cementery. -- Cuba Tribune.
