IRA CRISWELL DIES AT WOLCOTT; RITES THURSDAY

MONTICELLO--Ira M. Criswell, 72, died at 9:30 p.m. Monday at his home in Wolcott after an illness of several months.

He had lived most of his life in White County where he was born August 5, 1889 {1898 per SS death index}, son of Michael and Mary Fuller Criswell.

He served with the Air Force in World War I, was a member of the VFW and the Baptist Church.

His marriage on Oct. 27, 1939, was to Mary Warren, who survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ralph Souligne, Stockton, Cal.; a son, David M., of here; a son, Michael W., Chesterfield; nine grandchildren. One daughter preceded him in death.

Other survivors are a brother and three sisters; Henry, Riverside, Cal.; Mrs. Pearl Spain, Rensselaer; Mrs. Lloyd Hinshaw and Mrs. Robert Lee, both of Michigan City.

Friends may call at the Miller Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Wednesday. Rites there will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Robert Bowling officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
