SOLON -- A devoted wife, mother and well liked teacher, Laura A. Morrison, 93, died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, at Cedar Ridge Center in Skowhegan. She was born June 21, 1920, in Moscow, to Dana E. and Ethel (Clark) Hunnewell. Laura graduated from Bingham High School with the class of 1938 and from Farmington Normal School with the class of 1941. She was married on Jan. 20, 1951, to Paul R. Morrison. Laura taught school in Sydney, Saco, Bingham, Moscow and Norridgewock, retiring from Norridgewock schools in 1977 following 27 and a half years of teaching there.

Laura was a member of the Solon Congregational Church, a 60-year member of the Bingham Grange, a member of the State and National Grange, the Somerset Retired Teachers Association and The Keystone Chapter Order of The Eastern Star, a member and past vice president of the Bingham Goodwill Club and a member and past chaplain of the Bingham Senior Citizens. Laura enjoyed her flowers, gardening and reading. She also enjoyed fishing at East Carry Pond and Pleasant Pond.

She was predeceased by her husband, Paul R. Morrison, on Sept 9, 1980; and a nephew, John M. Hunnewell, on March 5, 2004.

She is survived by her devoted son who was a big help to her in her later years, Robert H. Morrison, and his wife, Bonnie, of Norridgewock; two very special grandsons, Robert H. Morrison II, and his fiance, Lesley Sobeck, of Sidney, and Paul A. Morrison, of Norridgewock; her twin brother and best friend, Frank D. Hunnewell Sr., of Bingham; a very special niece, Barbara Essency, and her husband, Paul, of Skowhegan; nephews: Frank D. Hunnewell Jr. and his wife, Donna, of Moscow, and James Hunnewell and his wife, Peggy, of Ocala, Fla.; a niece, Karen Hunnewell, of Moscow; and special neighbors, Cara Hubberman and Edwina Cleveland.
A graveside service will be at Bingham Village Cemetery on Main Street in Bingham, with the Rev. Nathan T. Richards officiating. (Morning Sentinel 9/18/2013 & Giberson Funeral Home)
