Born Jan. 27, 1913 in Ashley, North Dakota, she was the daughter of the late George F. and Rose Belle (Hart) Dewalt. She was preceded in death on May 23, 1996 (cemetery records has his death Oct. 21, 1996) by her husband, Ray S. Reid whom she married on Aug. 20, 1938.
Edna was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church where she belonged to the Positive Christian Singles. She was a life member of Galion Golden Age Club and belonged to the Crestline Eagles Auxiliary. Edna loved to cook and bake and would get up early to bake and supply her baked goods to friends and to Galion Police and Fire Departments. She was known for her specialty, the "Sticky Buns" she would bake. She also was an avid Euchre player.
Edna worked at the former North Electric Co. in Galion for 24 years and at Galion Community Hospital for 15 years.
Surviving are her many nieces and nephews and her special friend, Ruthela Miller of Galion.
She was preceded in death by six brothers, Orville, Wilbur, William, Chester, George and Elmer Dewalt and seven sisters, Leona Reule, Irene Johnson, Gladys Helwig, Rose Roke, Cleo Lee, Grace Delzer and Florence Sailor.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home in Galion and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Sept 20, 2013 at St. Paul United Methodist Church. Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 20, at St. Paul United Methodist Church with Rev. Ash Welch officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
