MARION - Mabel A. Webb, 90, passed away suddenly at 4:13 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 7, 2007, in Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.
She was born April 12, 1916, south of Marion, the daughter of Clyde Robert and Ollie Elizabeth (Smith) Peterson.
Mabel was united in marriage to Ammon E. Webb on Sept. 12, 1935, in Williamson County. Together they shared more than 60 years of marriage until his death on Oct. 1, 1995.
Earlier in her lifetime, she worked at Sangamo Electric for 15 years. After the company's closure, she remained at home taking care of her home and seeing to the needs of her husband and family.
Her church membership was with Parish Park Baptist Church of Marion.
Some of her other interests included quilting and cooking. Her family was a very important part of her life. She enjoyed the many times they would all gather together, giving her an opportunity to cook some of her very special meals for them all to enjoy. She was always interested in their many activities, especially those of the grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter's first husband, Ted Lingle; great-grandson, Trevor Lingle; two sisters, Elsie Robertson and Verna Hartline; and brother, Ewell Peterson.
Celebration of Life services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007, in Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home in Marion, with her grandson, David Lingle, officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
