WEBB CITY, MISSOURI: Paul Norman "Punk" Hollingsworth, age 78, passed away at 7:22 am, Sunday, September 15,2013 at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, Missouri following an illness.

Punk was born January 19, 1935 in Galena, KS. His parents were Paul and Alice (Smith) Hollingsworth.

He had lived with his sister in Webb City for the past 2 months.

He was raised in Galena and graduated from Galena High School. Following graduation, he entered the U S Air Force. He moved to Manchester, New Hampshire in the 1950's and lived there until this summer.

He worked several years as an electric supply saleman. He last worked as a produce manager in a grocery store.

Punk was married to Yvonnie Marie Miller on Sept 3, 1977 in Bedford, NH. She preceded him in death earlier this year.

Surviving is one son Paul Douglas Hollingsworth (wife, Paula) , Kittepy Point, Maine; one grandson, Justin Hollingsworth, Kittepy, Maine; and two sisters, Maymie Williams, Webb City, MO and Avis Brown, Sun City Center, FL.

Paul has been taken for cremation under the care of Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS.

The family is planning a private memorial service at a later date.

GALENA, Kan. - Paul E. Hollingsworth, 64, 111 W. Forest St., died at 11:15 a.m. Friday at St. John's Medical Center, Joplin, Mo., after two years of ill health.

Mr. Hollingsworth was born Aug. 22, 1910, in Galena, and was a lifetime resident. He was a machinist at Vicker's Incorporated, Joplin, for 20 years, retiring in 1972. He was a member, of the AFL - CIO Local Union. He married Alice A. Smith, Oct. 19, 1929, in Joplin.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are two sons, Norman Hollingsworth, Manchester, N.H, and Joe Bob Spradling, Baxter Springs; two daughters, Mrs. Avis Brown, Belleair, Fla., and Mrs. Maymie Stinnett, Webb City; two brothers, Joe Hollingsworth, Joplin, Mo., and Robin Hollingsworth, Tomball, Tex.; and nine grandchildren.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena. The Rev. Dow Booe will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Gary Gibson, Wayne Gibson, Ted Watkins, Bob Bogle, Jack LaTurner, Jerry LaTurner and Joe LaTurner.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

JOPLIN, MISSOURI: Alice Alberta Hollingsworth, age 95, died at 9:40 am, Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at National Health Care, Joplin, MO following an illness.

Mrs. Hollingsworth was born January 25, 1913 in Webb City, MO. Her parents were John Lewis and Ida Cornelia (Dodson) Smith.

She moved to Joplin in 1997 after living in Galena KS since age two. She was a homemaker. She was a member of North Main Street Baptist Church, Joplin, MO.

She was married to Paul Esco Hollingsworth on Oct. 19, 1929 in Joplin, MO. He passed away July 18, 1975.

Surviving is one son, Paul Norman Hollingsworth, Manchester, NH; two daughters, Avis Brown, Anacortez, WA and Maymie Williams, Joplin, MO; 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 am, Friday, April 4, 2008 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS. Chaplain Jerry Seigel will officiate.

Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Galena, KS.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 - 8:00 pm, Thursday at the funeral home.
