PETER McLAUGHLIN
Peter McLaughlin, a retired Min neapolis policeman, who was well-known in this community, died Tuesday of a sudden heart attack at his home in that city. He was 81 years old and spent his boyhood days in the Janesville community. For many years he had charge of a Minneapolis patrol wagon. In re ferring to his record, the Minneapolis Journal said:
"Old timers on the police force often tell of McLaughlin's prowess in handling toughs. Many a time he would pick up two beligerent individuals at once, one under each arm, dump them into the ‘wagon' and drive them to jail."
The body is being brought to Janesville today and will be laid to rest in the Janesville Catholic cemetery. He is a half-brother of Thomas, Michael and Miss Winnie Lang of Minneapolis, former residents of this community.

Peter McLaughlin, age 80, of 3857 Pleasant Ave., Minneapolis, passed away at his home there on Tuesday, February 2. Services were held from Incarnation Church at 9:00 a.m. The remains were brought here for burial this afternoon in St. Ann's cemetery.
