Joan Ramsey (Pliskey), age 77, of Michigan City, IN, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Franciscan St. Anthony Hospice in Michigan City, IN.
Joan was born October 26, 1935 in Michigan City, IN to Edward A. and Dorothy L. (Peters) Pliskey who preceded her in death. She married Roy Ramsey on October 27, 1956 in New Buffalo, MI. Roy also preceded her in death.
Joan is survived by her daughters: Ruth Ann Hubertz of Michigan City, IN and Donna (Roger) Schiller of Michigan City, IN; two grandchildren: Brian Gonzalez and Amy Smith; four great-grandchildren: Brianna, Brian Jr., Bianca and Shong Jr.; sisters: Gloria (Kenneth) Pytynia of Michigan City, Barbara Wandrey of Westville, IN ; brothers: Edward Pliskey and Robert (MaryAnn) Pliskey of Michigan City, IN and sister-in-law: Helen Pliskey. Joan was also preceded in death by brother: Roger Pliskey and sister: Ruth Ann Pliskey.
Joan enjoyed gardening, yardwork and making crafts. She was a NASCAR fan and raised eastern bluebirds. Joan loved her two dogs: Annie and Muffy. Joan had a passion for shopping.
Private graveside services for the family will be held at St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Michigan City, IN with burial in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Pastor Michael Klonaski will be officiating.
Arrangements are being entrusted to Geisen-Carlisle Funeral Home 613 Washington St. Michigan City, IN.
