Mr. Henry F. Libert

Mr. Henry F. Libert died at his home in Ashkum Township Sunday, February 16, 1930, at the age of fifty-two years, eleven months and twenty-two days. The funeral was held in Clifton, Wednesday, February 19th.
He had not enjoyed good health for the past few months but not until the last was his condition considered alarming. No citizen of this section has been more highly esteemed and respected by their neighbors. The passing away of Mr. Libert occasioned sadness in this community and the bereaved family have the sincere sympathy of all in their bereavement.
Mr. Libert, son of Gaspard J. Libert, was born February 25th 1877, near L’Erable, Ill. His boyhood was spent with his parents on the farm and in young manhood he attended St. Viateur’s College, Bourbonnais, Ill., and the Western Illinois Normal School and Business Institute at Macomb, Illinois, from which he graduated in 1902. Later he went to Greer College at Hoopeston, Illinois, preparing studiously for his chosen work – Insurance, later representing the new York Life Insurance Co., of New York. While attending Greer college he met his future wife, Miss Ina Gleason and the romance began that later led to their marriage.
He was married to Miss Gleason at Ashkum, une 6, 1910, where they passed their married life, but their happiness was soon eclipsed by her death on November 22, 1912.
He leaves to mourn his death his father, Mr. Gaspard J. Libert, and three sisters, namely; Eva, Mrs. Joseph Gravelle and Misses Josephine M. and Lucy M. Libert.
Solemn High Mass of Requiem was celebrated at Clifton February 19th, by his uncle, Rev. J. G. Libert, Rev. Father Koppes of Clifton, Deacon; Rev. Father Martin of Ashkum, Sub-deacon. The sermon was preached by Father Koppes of Clifton.
Interment was made in the Clifton Catholic Cemetery. The pall bearers were Messrs. John Colombe, Alvin Adams, George Sanders, Emile Berger, William Yonke and Patrick Cloonen.
