VETERAN | WORLD WAR I
1897 - 1971

Wallace Robinson Wayman, 74, 4186 Canyon Road, Provo, died Tuesday at the Utah Valley Hospital. He was born Feb. 8, 1897, in Lewiston, Ida., a son of Arthur E. [sic] and Lucy Robinson Wayman. He married Mary Frances Hatch on Dec. 22, 1920, in the Salt Lake Temple. She died Dec. 29, 1966.

He then married Isabelle [Duthie Kellett] Johnson on Dec. 29, 1970, in the Manti Temple*. He was a civil engineer for the Provo River Water Commission until his retirement two years ago. He served with the Bureau of Reclamation and other government organizations which included two years in Pakistan on a federal assignment.

He was a High Priest in the Edgemont Fourth Ward, had served two LDS Missions - German-Austrian Mission and Swiss Mission. He was a veteran of World War I and had been active in the American Legion since that time. He served twice as chaplain and twice as commander of the Dean Mendenhall Post 13 of the Legion.

Mr. Wayman also was a past admiral of the Ute Last Squad, World War veterans.

Survivors include his widow, Provo; two sons and three daughters, Craig W. and Reid L. Wayman, both of West Mountain; Mrs. Louis (Lynette) Wille, Aspen, Colo.; Mrs. Lewis (Lucy Gale) Burham, Brussells, Belgium; Mrs. James (Mary Carol) Barnes, Seattle, Wash.; 20 grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren and one stepson, Andrew Rey Kellott, Ogden; five sisters and one brother, Andrew Wayman, Mrs. Clyde (Viola) Thompson, Mrs. Robert (Margaret) Prudence, all of Holladay; Mrs. Irene Jensen, Rexburg, Ida.; Mrs. Bill (Bessie) Newman, Riverton; Mrs. Grant (Leona) Weyler, Salt Lake City.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Edgemont Fourth Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Olpin Family Mortuary of Provo Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday at the chapel prior to services. Burial will be in the East Lawn Memorial Hills. The family suggests contributions to the Primary Children's Hospital. Full military rites will be accorded by the Dean Mendenhall Post 13 of the American Legion.
