Trudy was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years James (Al) (Bud) Carpenter this April; her parents; three sisters, Marjorie (Robert) Anderson, Harriett Meder, and Jean Thiede.
She is survived by three children, Robert (Bonny) Carpenter of Mio, MI, David (Linda) Carpenter of Livonia, MI, and Kay Provenzano of Myrtle Beach, SC; six grandchildren, Jaime Carpenter-Glanz, Libby (Charlie) Clingerman, Stephanie (Darin) Shackelford, Steven (Donna Johnson) Carpenter, Michael Carpenter, and Anthony Provenzano; five great-grandchildren, Kade Glanz, Kara and Drew Clingerman, Alessa and Declan Shackelford; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Trudy attended Vandercook Lake High School. She was a wonderful homemaker to her family, especially her grandchildren. Trudy worked part-time as a census taker for Union School District of Jackson later known as Jackson Public Schools.
She was a receptionist for T.E. Schmidt, M.D., a wonderful caregiver for her neighbor, and an adopted mother and grandmother to several.
Trudy volunteered as a den leader for Cub Scouts, troop leader for Brownies, a room mother and PTA member for years; she enjoyed sewing and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
A celebration of her life was held at the Watson Funeral Chapel on Monday, September 16, 2013. Reverend Dr. John Doud officiated. A private interment was held.
