Born Nov. 14, 1912, at Frenchville, he was a son of Charles McFaye and Margaret Rose Bechtold.
Mr. McFaye was a coal miner for 44 years and worked for the Krolick Coal Co., Lecontes Mills, from which he retired. He was also a lifetime farmer. Owned and loved John Deere Tractors.
On Sept. 22, 1934, at Frenchville, he wed Mary Ellen (Welch) McFaye, who preceded him in death Sept. 29, 1989.
He is survived by three daughters, Margaret J. Michaels and her husband, Ronald, Grace E. Leigey and her husband Thomas, and Bonnie L. Maines and her husband Ben, all of Frenchville; a son Wilbur G. McFaye Jr. and his wife Dixie, of Morrisdale RD; 21 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Mildred L. Tompkins; a son Richard W. McFaye; three grandchildren, Stephen R. McFaye, Gregory Lee Michaels and Kenneth F. Leigey; a great-grandson, Bryan G. Ennis; and two brothers, Charles Dunlap and Arthur Bechtold.
Mr. McFaye was a member of the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Karthaus.
A funeral service was held Sept. 7 at Chapel of the Strange and Weaver Funeral Service, 171 Deer Creek Road, Morrisdale, with the Rev. John T. Fraser and the Rev. Dr. Gary Bumbarger officiating.
Interment was in Keewaydin Cemetery, Keewaydin.
