John Mattingly, Former Arcola Resident, Dies
ARCOLA, Ill. — John B. Mattingly, 89, Peoria, formerly of Arcola, died at 3 a.m. today at Methodist Hospital in Peoria.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The Shrader funeral home, Arcola, is in charge.
Mr. Mattingly was born in Kentucky Nov. 9, 1870, a son of John and Emily Mattingly. He farmed for a number of years in the Arcola vicinity before moving to Peoria. He was a member of the Roman Catholic Church.
His wife, Lyda, died Sept. 9, 1958.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Ballman, Mattoon, and Miss Lulu Mattingly, Peoria, and two sons, Hubert, Detroit, Mich., and Russell, Peoria.
