Services for Brownie B. Barger, 81, of Nampa, who died Sunday, June 29, in the Nampa hospital, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, at the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa. The Rev. John V. Silliker, a retired Baptist minister, will officiate. Burial will follow at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
Mr. Barger was born March 12 1905, in Marion, Ky., to William and Polly Barger. He was reared and educated in Kentucky.
He moved to Elm Creek, Neb., in 1919, with his family, and worked for the railroad.
He married Vera Parker in 1928 at Arcadia, Neb., where they lived and worked at his father-in-law's grocery store. They moved to California and worked in the shipyards during the war.
In 1946, they moved to Deary, Idaho, and began to farm. She died in 1955.
He married Willie Vencil Feb. 4, 1963, in Deary. They sold the farm in 1973 and moved to Nampa, where they had since made their home.
He was a member of the United Brethren Church, Deary.
He is survived by his wife of Nampa; two daughters, Vivian Jolin of Kasilof, Alaska, and Joyce Putnam of Eugene, Ore.; a stepdaughter, Ina Bycroft of Montgomery, Ala.; a brother, Learner Barger of Boise; a sister, Ercie Stewart of Denver, Colo.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Barger, a brother and two sisters.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association of Idaho, 3295 Elder St., Suite 140, Boise 83705; or flowers may be sent.
