Roy Gardner
ARCOLA, Ill. — Funeral services for Roy Gardner were held at 2 p.m. today in Shrader Funeral Home, Arcola, with Rev. Ted Snyder and Rev. John Genn officiating. Burial was in Arcola Cemetery.
Mr. Gardner, 82, of Arcola, a retired farmer, died at 11 p.m. Friday in Jarman Hospital, Tuscola.
He was born Dec. 7, 1890, near Arcola, the son of Perry and Malinda Satchel Gardner. He married Flora Lindsay in Paris, Ill., March 29, 1918. She died Nov. 11, 1972.
Surviving are a son, Dale of Arcola; three daughters, Mrs. George Morris of Champaign, Mrs. William Dillner of Arcola and Mrs. Jack Chaney of Humboldt; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. Gardner farmed in the Arcola area until retiring in 1960. He was a member of the Arcola Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge. He was also a veteran of World War I.
