Peggy Reid departed this life October 28, 2012, peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Peggy was born August 29, 1935 in Pahokee, FL, the daughter of the late John N. and Nellie V. Herring. She married her husband Al (Ratsy) Reid on June 26, 1955. Peggy was a 1953 graduate of Manatee High School and a lifelong resident of Manatee County. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Peggy also was a Realtor and worked for the Manatee County School District and was a tax preparer for H&R Block and Jackson Hewitt. In retirement, Peggy enjoyed golf, travel, reading and her family. Peggy is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Ratsy, her children Bruce (Andrea), Rodney (Patti), Terri McAllister (Carl), nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Donations in Peggy's memory may be made to Tidewell Hospice House, 2504 34th Ave. W, Bradenton, FL 34205. Visitation is Friday at 1:00pm followed by the funeral service at 3:00pm, conducted by Groover Funeral Home at Mansion Memorial Park, 1400 36th Avenue East, Ellenton, FL.
