Edna was very much an extrovert. She was very active with the Red Cross during WWI. She always asked new friends to send her a postcard from where ever they went. As a result, she collected thousands of postcards from all over the world beginning in 1898 and ending shortly before her death. The card collection is now in the position of Herbert A Rideout (1998). In the summer 1930s, I (Herbert Rideout) would visit and I shall always remember the donuts she would make for me on her kitchen wood stove. I have never had any since to equal hers. After Wilbur died she made ends meet by selling turkeys and sheep. She Had A Happy Disposition, Loved People, And Was A Good Solid Citizen, Per Edena Leola Strout/Rideout. She is buried with Wilbur at the Cotton Cemetery on the way to town.

Note: The gravestone was to close to the road and has since been moved.
