The family of Allen Theodore Norwood is celebrating his life on this earth. Mr. Norwood, who was born January 25, 1932, passed from this life on September 12, 2013.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie Campbell, sister, Eunice Smith, brothers, Buddy and Leo Norwood, and by his parents, Horace and Annie Segers Norwood.

Services will be under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home, with visitation for the family to be held Friday at 4:15 pm, and the service on Saturday, September 14, at 3:00 pm.

Mourning his passing is his wife of sixty-three years, Mary Lee Wright Norwood, along with his seven children. Mr. Norwood considered his children his greatest wealth, and he was truly blessed with a large family, including Larry Wayne and his wife Joyce of Felsenthal, Arkansas, their five children, seventeen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; Mike and his wife Sue of Olla, their son and two grandaughters; Diane Hodges and Glenn of Crowville, their two daughters, two granddaughers, and three great-grandaughers; Teddy and his wife Sunday of Winnsboro, their two children and nine grandchildren; Janet McComb of Gilbert, her three children and nine grandchildren; Debbie's three children and her five grandchildren; Jimmy and his wife Lisa, who was his companion, caregiver and his 'other daughter' for the last several years, their three children and four grandchildren; Katie Norwood and Bryan of Winnsboro and their two children; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, whom he loved as well as his own brothers and sisters, Fay Lyons, Viola Guice, Garvin Wright, Carolyn Guillot, and Jr. Wright; too many nieces and nephews to name; and many neighborhood children.

Second only to his family, was Mr. Norwood's passion for fishing. Having lived on the banks of Bayou Macon for the past twenty eight years, he had some wonderful fising stories to tell, and those stories will live on in our hearts and memories for all the years to come.

Mr. Norwood held many jobs in his lifetime, including driving trucks for T.J. Owens, farming, and finally the work with which he was satisfied, owing and operation the Country Trading Post furniture store in Winnsboro for many years. As the owner of the furniture store, Mr. Norwood met a large number of people in Franklin and the surrounding parishes, calling many of this his friends.

Carrying Mr. Norwood to his final resting place are Jerry Wayne Jones, James Allen Norwood, Ryan Emfinger, Chris Norwood, Jamie Norwood, and Randy Minchew. Interment will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery on Courthouse Road. Mark Walley will serve as casket escort.

Honorary Pallbearers are Garvin Wright, Rae North, and Pee Wee Montgomery
