A search in nearby parishes revealed the baptism of an Elizabeth Benslye on November 12, 1570 in St. Edmund’s Church in Caistor, Norfolk. Her parents were Simon and Alice Parker Benslye. On September 24, 1591, she married Thomas Elwyn at St. Bartholomew’s Church in Heigham Parish, Norwich. Elizabeth and Thomas had at least seven children, all baptized at St. Bartholomew’s Church in Heigham Parish between 1593 and 1605. Elizabeth died not too long after the birth of her last child in September 1605. Elizabeth was buried in the churchyard of St. Bartholomew’s in Heigham Parish, just outside the walls of Norwich in Norfolk, on January 12 1606.
