Thomas Elwyn was born in the Heigham Parish, just outside the walls of Norwich, Norfolk, England in April of 1566, and baptized at St. Bartholomew’s Church there on May first, the son of William & Alice Elwyn. On September 24, 1591, he married Elizabeth Benslye at St. Bartholomew’s. They had at least seven children, all baptized at St. Bartholomew’s. Elizabeth died in 1606. It is not known if Thomas remarried. Thomas died in 1648 and was buried on December 2nd in the churchyard at St. Bartholomew’s in Heigham Parish, just outside the walls of Norwich in Norfolk.
