Early Life: Betty was born December 4, 1920, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to David Arnold West and Isabelle Woolley West. She attended Brigham Young University in 1938 to 1939, and graduated from there 68 years later, at the age of 85.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: On May 2, 1941, Betty married her wonderful husband, John Everett West in the Salt Lake Temple. They were the parents of six children, Paul (Colleen), Carolyn Allred (Wallace), John (Lorraine), Nancy Riggs, Gary (Carol), and Alan (Julene). Betty loved the Gospel of Jesus Christ and served faithfully in many callings. She was a woman of integrity, strength, faith, and anxiously sought to bless the lives of others. She served two missions with her husband: one in Laie, Hawaii and the other in Liberty Jail, Missouri. She will be remembered as a wonderful cook and hostess and always made people feel welcome and loved in her home. The legacy she leaves behind will be felt by generations to come. Sweet mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Betty W. West, passed away peacefully September 9, 2013, at the age of 92.
Survived By: Her children; sister, Wanda Badger; brother, David (Dixie) West; 30 grandchildren, and 59 great grandchildren. Her first great-great grandchild will be born in October.
Preceded In Death By: Her husband, John Everett West (What a joy their reunion must be!); her parents, sisters: Beverly Monson, Eloise Ellis and Helen Driggs.
