Mrs. Halsey Bruner died at her home on Railroad Ave. Thursday at midnight, after a lingering illness of three years from Bright ’s disease.

Edna Jane McAffee was born Dec 16 1877, Audubon County Iowa. She was married to Halsey Bruner Jan 17 1896. Ten children were born to them. After residing in Estherville, Iowa a few years, they located in McKinzie Lake Settlement [Burnett Co] and eight years ago they came to Spooner where they have made their home ever since. The funeral was held Monday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock from the M.E. church, in charge of Rev. J. T. Miller, the Royal Neighbors attended the funeral in a body, interment in Spooner Cemetery.

The deceased was a lady of gracious and kind character and was ever ready to help her neighbors and friends in sickness or trouble, a true wife and loving mother. She joined the Christian Church in her earlier day. Besides her husband, she is survived by ten children, all of Spooner; Mrs. Stanley Kasper (Lola), Mrs. Clyde Snell (Flora); those that live at home are Herbert, Leer, Helen, Daniel, Daisy, Jennie, Belle, and Robert, age one month, also her other, Mrs. Helen McAffee and two brothers Lesley and Willis McAffee, all of Estherville.

Those from out of town who attended the funeral were her brothers and Miss Grace Swartz of Estherville, Homer Clure and E.C. Bruner of Balsam Lake.
