SHREVEPORT, LA - Myrtis Edmiston McGee went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday morning, May 24, 2012, at the age of 94 years. She was born on January 27th, 1918, in Vernon, Louisiana to Benjamin F. Edmiston and Cynthia Kyght Edmiston. She is a graduate of Weston High School. Myrtis worked in the Shreveport area and retired from Big Chain Grocery and Krogers. She is a member of the Church of Uncertain Texas. She lived on Caddo Lake for 25 years and was an active member of the Caddo Lake Association.

She is survived by one daughter, Glenda Whitehead Chisum and husband, Joe of Blanchard, Louisiana; two sons, Donnie Emmons and wife, Elaine of Mooringsport, Louisiana and Harold Culver and wife, Ruth of Bedford, Texas. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by one son, Freddie Emmons.

Services will be held at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home on Sunday, May 27, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend Joe Chisum officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park.
