Mr. Johnny Lester Adams, age 66, of Weldon, passed away Monday, August 01, 2011 at his residence. He was born November 16, 1944 in Weldon, Texas and had lived in Weldon for most of his lifetime. Mr. Adams was retired having worked as a construction worker in Houston and had also retired from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He loved to hunt and fish. Survivors include children, Joni Kay Moore of Weldon, Jerry Lester Adams of Houston, Vicki Adams of Houston; grandchildren, Kymberly Seidel of Trinity, Kristen Hill and husband, Jason of Latexo, Justin Rickman of Austin, Melissa Adams of Austin, Kayla Moore of Weldon; great-grandchildren, Holli Seidel, Allison Milz, Bailey Hill; brothers, Pete Adams, Walter Adams and wife, Eloise, Billy John Adams and wife, Ann, Ray Adams and wife, Gladys, Bud Adams and wife, Joyce, Jerry Don Adams; sisters, Lula Kent and husband, Norwood, Jane Kabine and husband, Bob; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Preceded in death by parents, Charlie R. and Lillie "Tay" Adams; brother, Harold Adams and sister-in-law, Opal Adams.
Memorial services for Mr. Johnny Lester Adams will be held Saturday, August 6, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel. Johnny was cremated, but the majority of his family is buried in this cemetery.
