MYRTLE K. ASTLING

White Pigeon - Myrtle K. ASTLING, 79, 220 E. Hotchin St., died Dec. 17, 1991, at the Sturgis Hospital, following a one-month illness.

She was born March 12, 1912, in LaGrange County, Ind., a daughter of Floyd and Bessie (BOLLINGER) SCHUTT.

On Dec. 23, 1934, she married Charles H. ASTLING, in Constantine. He died June 30, 1979.

She had lived most of her life in the White Pigeon area and graduated from White Pigeon High School in 1929. She also graduated from a business college in South Bend, Ind. During her early life, she was employed at Weyerhaeuser Paper Company, White Pigeon, and for more than 20 years she worked at Midwest Tool and Cutlery, Sturgis, retiring in 1978. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, and a past member of the Order of Eastern Star and the Alba Columba Club.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs.(hole in paper) (Nancy) EIPPERLE, Arcadia, Fla.; two sons, Floyd A. ASTLING and Charles R. ASTLING, both of White Pigeon; 11 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Relatives and friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the Farrand Funeral Home, White Pigeon, where the family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. today. Services are at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Barbara Van Essendelft, First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in White Pigeon Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church and the American Heart Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
