Services Held at Boyden For H.J. Heusinkveld
Funeral services were held for Henry John Heusinkveld, 68 years, who passed away Friday evening at 11:15 p.m., July 7, 1961, at his home in Boyden, following a lingering heart condition.

Services were held at 1:00 p.m. at the home and at 1:30 p.m. at the First Reformed Church in Boyden. Burial was at Hope cemetery in Hull, under direction of Kraai funeral home of Hull. Rev. Henry G. Schoon conducted the service. Mrs. Ray Smit and Mrs. Scott Sneller sang “My Home Sweet Home” and “Saved by Grace,” with Mrs. Wm. Rons at the organ. Pallbearers were World War I veterans, members of Post No. 272, American Legion at Boyden: Henry Bosman, John Hilton, George Reimers, George Horn, Virgil E. Smith and John Sitter.

Mr. Heusinkveld was born April 14, 1893 at Harrison, South Dakota where he grew to boyhood. In 1901 his parents, Henry Gerrit and Hendrika Heusinkveld and family moved to Tyndall, South Dakota, where they resided until 1908, when they returned to Harrison.

In 1918 Uncle Sam called and Mr. Heusinkveld served in World War I for one year: 1918 to 1919.

On February 15th, 1922, he was united in marriage to Jacoba Van Batavia of Hull, Iowa, living at Hull and one year at Timber Lake, South Dakota, and for the past thirty-one years had lived in Boyden, Iowa, where he was active in community affairs as well as a faithful member of the First Reformed Church and the American Legion Post no. 272.

To this union one son was born, Henry Gerrit Heusinkveld of Boyden.

Surviving him are his widow, Coba, son Henry G.; two grandsons, one granddaughter; one sister, Mrs. John Mulder of Corsica, South Dakota; two brothers, Dick Heusinkveld of Hull, Iowa, and Wm. Heusinkveld of Armour, South Dakota, besides a host of other relatives and friends.
