DOVER-FOXCROFT - Eunice A. Mountain, 88, wife of the late Eugene "Red" Mountain, passed away Sept. 5, 2013, at Mayo Regional Hospital. She was born Jan. 6, 1925, in Dover-Foxcroft, the daughter of the late Arthur Ames and Katherine (Davies) Ames Simpson.

She attended Greenville High School and graduated from Foxcroft Academy in 1943. After graduation she was employed as a secretary for Farm Security Administration and later by the State Bureau of Health. In 1952, she and "Red" purchased Mountain's Market and they ran it together for 35 years.

Her time spent at the camp on Sebec Lake was filled with joy. Cribbage, crosswords, and conversation with friends and family were cherished. Eunice was a true animal lover, her family dogs and her cats kept a loving smile on her face.

Eunice was predeceased by three brothers, Harry, Clarence and Harold Ames; and two sisters, Lillian Herring and Phyllis Berce. She is survived by two daughters, Julie Mountain of Dover-Foxcroft, and Janet Colbry and her husband, Jerry, of Dover-Foxcroft; two grandchildren, Dustin Colbry and his wife, Natasha, of Dover-Foxcroft, and Darren Colbry of LaGrange.
Burial will be in the family lot at Parson's Landing Cemetery. (Bangor Daily News & Lary Funeral Home)
