Mary Aldrich Dorothy was born 1833 in New York, Her parents were Horace and Mary Horner Aldrich, they move to
Illinois around the Hancock area. She taught school in the early years. She married Robert Marion Dorothy in May 3,1856
in Illinois. To this union they had 10 Children; Milton,
Horace, Robert, Rachel, James, Elizabeth, George, Molly, Jenny, Ben. They then all moved to Jefferson Co. Glasgow,Ia.
In Aug. 17,1893 they got a divorce in Fairfield, Iowa Jefferson Co. Mary lived with her son James and his family for several years and then went to Oakland Ca. where her youngest daughter Jenny lived, moved in with her and her husband and later Mary died July 6,1920 at Jenny's home in Oakland,Ca. Alameda Co. and was buried at Evergreen Cemetery, Oakland, Ca. Alameda Co.
