OGDEN - Ruth Gunnell Vic- tor, 85, beloved wife. mother, and grandmother, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2002.
She was born March 27, 1917 in Bridge, Idaho,
a daughter of Louis J. and Sarah Hawkins Gunnell.
On July 2, 1934, she married Luther N. Victor in Brigham City. The marriage was solemnized on February 18, 1943
in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She had been employed by J.C. Penny's and Sears, retiring in 1972.
Ruth was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving faithfully in all organizations. She was a member of the Mt. View Camp and Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She served as Research Director at the Family History Library in Ogden and as an ordinance worker in the Ogden Temple. Her life was filled with love and service to her family, both living and dead.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Luther Victor, three daughters, Diane Earl, Donna (Darrel) Bingham, Neva (Lloyd) Jones, one son, Grant (Sandy) Victor, 32 grandchildren, 73 great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Dorothy Jensen/Smith, Luana Fowars, and two brothers, Louis Gunnell and Dean Gunnell.
She was preceded in death by a baby son and a baby daughter, one grandson, Todd, and two sisters, Margaret and Velma.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 11, at 2 p.m. at Sullivan Hollow 1st Ward, 33rd and Jackson Ave. Friends may call Friday, May 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th St., Ogden, and Saturday from 1 to 1:45 p.m. at the church prior to services.
Interment, Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch.
