Ribelin, Frank K Frank Ribelin passed away at home on Monday, April 26, 2010 following a very courageous 2-year struggle with cancer. Frank was born September 20, 1933 in Dallas. He attended Holy Trinity Catholic Church, then graduated from Jesuit College Prepatory School in Dallas. He graduated from SMU with a degree in Business Administration in 1954. He served in the US Air Force then entered into the family business with his father Roy A. Ribelin and brother Chuck in Ribelin Distributors in the 1950's. The business soon split and Frank founded Riberglass, Inc, a fiberglass raw materials distributor. Frank led the company to become a leader in its industry throughout the southwest. Frank was known for his keen and valued business sense. The business was sold in 1987 which gave Frank the opportunity to expand his support of the art endeavors over the years. He served on numerous volunteer and non-profit boards including: Smithsonian Institution, Washington, DC; International Sculpture Center, Washington, DC; InterCultura, Ft Worth, TX; Catholic Foundation, Jesuit College Prep Foundation; Jesuit Dallas Museum; Mexican Cultural Center; Board of Governors Dallas Symphony Association; Adopt-A-Monument Advisory Committee; Dallas Museum of Art; Montserrat Retreat House; The Pines Catholic Camp and Youth Center; Strake Jesuit Art Museum, Houston, TX and Dallas Sym-phony-Young Strings. He currently was on the board of the President's Research Council at UT Southwestern; Meadows Museum Advisory Council and Museum of Fine Arts Houston-Latin American Art Subcommittee. A special honored thanks to his loving and devoted wife Kathleen Musso who supported and sustained him through his sickness.
Preceeded in death by his parents. He is also survived by his children Sally Ribelin Warren and husband John S. Roy A. Ribelin II and daughter Sydney Elizabeth; Teresa Ribelin Cook and husband Chris and son John Breckinridge IV. His brother Chuck Ribelin and wife Martha Ribelin; sister Lucia Ribelin Francis and husband Tom. His step children Joe Musso and his wife Priscilla, children Michelle, Stephanie and Jennifer; Mike Musso and children Matthew, Michael and Kristin; Mark Musso and wife Shonda and children Emily, Taylor, Jake and Zach; Bob Musso and wife Kate and children Bobby and Mark. A memorial celebration to follow. in lieu of flowers, donations be made to benefit the research and laboratory of Dr. Ganesh V. Raj, Assistant Professor of Urologyat UT Southwestern.
