Rose Vigil, born September 29, 1913 in Cortez, Co. to Juan and Pablita Duran, passed away peacefully at home on September 1st, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. Rose took great pride in being a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She was a devout member of the Catholic Church who served faithfully and wholeheartedly in many capacities. Her laugh and smile were infectious. In her earlier years, one of her favorite pastimes was fishing and camping with her loving husband Alex. A skill which she mastered was her passion for cooking. Very seldom did Rose ever miss a Jazz game, unless of course they played on a Bingo night!

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alex Vigil; son, Trino Vigil; siblings, Magdalena Martinez, Versales Montoya and Aniseto Duran; 4 grandchildren; and son-in-law, Nick Velarde.
A viewing will be held Thursday, September 5th from 6-8 p.m. with a Rosary to follow at 7:30 p.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, September 6th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church, 624 W. Lennox St., Midvale, Utah. Interment will follow at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 S. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Deacon Stan for his loyal devotion in bringing her the Holy Eucharist every Sunday, and also to Harmony Hospice and their staff for the loving care that they provided.
