Jesse Willard Lay, 68, of East Enterprise, IN, passed away at 9:05 PM, Monday, September 2nd, 2013 at Dearborn County Hospital, Lawrenceburg, IN. Jesse was born in Casey County, KY on August 12, 1945, a son of the late Bessie (Buck) and Thorton Lay. He worked as a general foreman at Delta Faucet in Greensburg, IN., retiring in 1986. Jesse enjoyed fishing, woodworking and taking care of his yard. He also liked talking to his friends around the table at the Marathon Station in East Enterprise.
Jesse is survived by a son, Jeffrey Lay, of Greensburg, IN; a step daughter, Deadra Nordhoff, of Sanibel, FL; a step son,Troy Nordhoff, of Greensburg, IN; by three sisters, Carolyn Wright, of Milan, IN; Linda Cann, of East Enterprise, IN; Connie Sigmon, of East Enterprise, IN; three brothers, Carl Lay, of East Enterprise, IN; Alton Lay, of Versailles, IN; Chester Lay, of East Enterprise, IN. Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, by brothers, Stanley & Raymond Lay and by sisters, Datha Carman & Lillie May Lay.
Funeral Service at Markland Funeral Home, Rising Sun, IN, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 7th, with Pastor Hobert Byrd officiating. Friends may call Friday 5-8 PM. at Markland Funeral Home. Burial will be at New Liberty Cemetery, East Enterprise, IN.
