Hazel I. Sharp, age 102, of Trego Road, Waverly, and most recently of Williams Wilson House of Waverly, died 4:52 A.M. Wednesday, September 04, 2013 at her residence. She was born May 3, 1911 in Pike County, a daughter of the late John and Louisa Leeth Newland. On March 23, 1929 she was united in marriage to George Sharp who preceded her in death February 11, 1993. She is survived by five daughters, six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and ten great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Elmer Newland, Mathew Newland and an infant brother, Elbert, one sister, Blanch Cheeseman, and a niece, Virginia Johnson. Hazel lived all of her life in the Idaho and Buchanan communities, was a homemaker, and dairy farmer, and attended the Waverly First Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the Botkin Funeral Home in Waverly with Rev. Gary Pack officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Latham Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 to
8:00 P.M. Friday and from noon to 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
