Effingham - Moynell O. Tucker, 86, of Effingham died at 6:19 a.m. Monday, June 21, 2010, at her home.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Johnson Funeral Home, Effingham, with the Rev. Roger H. Marshall officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Brown Cemetery, Effingham.
The family suggests memorials be made to Effingham Water Authority for Lake Sara Erosion Control. Condolences may be left online at www.johnsonandsonsfh.com.
Moynell was born Sept. 18, 1923, in Dieterich, the daughter of Frank and Cleo C. (Mills) Field. She married Wally Tucker on June 16, 1946, in Kentucky, and he survives.
Moynell was one of the first female accountants in the Effingham County area to start an accounting business from home in 1962 and which later became Tucker Accounting Service Inc., Effingham. She was an active reader. She had been involved in bridge club, had served on the Effingham Unit 40 School Board and was an IRS Enrolled Agent.
Survivors include her husband, Wally Tucker of Effingham; children, John Tucker of Grafton, Kelly (wife, Mary Jo) Tucker of Effingham, Julie (husband, Darrell) Hoffman of Effingham and Jeanne Tucker of Springfield; grandchildren, Jonna Tucker, Jackie Tucker, Josh Tucker, Jacob Tucker, Layna Hoffman, Sophie Hoffman and Nell Boone; great-granddaughters, Mae Lynn and Sakura; brothers, Sam Field and William Field, both of Effingham; and sister, Cleone Manuel of Effingham. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and four sisters
