GUADALUPE MENDOZA AYALA

Guadalupe Mendoza Ayala, 96, of Florence died Aug. 17, 2002. She was born Dec. 12, 1905 in Leon Guanajuato, Mexico, to Concepcion B. and Isidro Mendoza.
Mrs. Ayala was a member of St. Benedict's Catholic Parish in Florence. She had a great love for her family, and she loved to cook, especially for her family. She also loved to sing and crochet.
She married Nicolas B. Ayala at Holy Trinity Church in Trinidad 1920. He preceded her in death in 1984. The couple had been married 58 years.
Mrs. Ayala is survived by seven children; 33 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great grandchildren.
Other than her husband, she was preceded in death by her children: Beatrice Solano who died in 1975, Susie Ramirez who died in 1983, and Connie Ayala, who died in 1937.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., today. Rosary Recitation followed by a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 21 at St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Florence. Interment will follow at Union Highland Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Charles Anthony funeral home of Florence.
