Frances Rainey Grant "Mammy", 89, of Greenville, passed away Monday, August 13, 2012.
Born October 17, 1922, she was the eldest child of the late J.T. and Ada Owings Rainey, and the widow of Ray Grant.
Mrs. Grant was a homemaker and a member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church, where she served as a 3 year old teacher for over 40 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Graham (Wesley); sons, David Grant (June) and Edward Grant (Shirley); 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. She is also survived by her brothers, John Lewis Rainey and James "Jim" Rainey.
She was predeceased by siblings, William "Bill" Rainey, Catherine Neas, Mary Witt and Louise Shortt.
Visitation will be held Thursday, August 16, 2012 from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at Mountain Creek Baptist Church with the funeral service following at 3:00 p.m. in the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The families are at their respective homes.
