Monica Anna Francis (Kopidlansky) Geiger, age 85, a resident of Brillion, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007, while visiting her brother in Florida.

She was born on Nov. 28, 1921, daughter of the late Albert and Mary (Radey) Kopidlansky. She married Norbert B. Geiger on Aug. 12, 1942 at St. Patrick Church in Maple Grove. He preceded her in death on Aug. 6, 1966. She farmed in the town of Brillion until 1988. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Brillion, the Christian Mothers, the KP Homemakers, the Catholic Women's Club, and also served as president of the Carmelites. Monica loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, attending their many activities.

She also enjoyed her many outings with numerous other relatives and friends. Many of her days were spent volunteering at her church. She liked gardening, farming, feeding the birds, playing cards, following her favorite sports teams, red wine, and sharing her kolaches. But most of all she loved the Lord.

Survivors include her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren: James and Betty Geiger; Cathy (Eric) Pagel; (Ashley and Alex Pagel); Holly (Matthew) Brick; James Geiger II and John Geiger; Sandra and Michael J. Siehr, Sarah, Gabriel and Laura Siehr; Norbert and Colette Geiger Jr.; Joshua Geiger; Melissa (Andrew) Ott and Kayla Geiger, Randy and Rosalie Geiger, Corey Geiger (fiance: Krista Knigge); and Angela (Nate) Zwald; Dennis and the late Barbara Schmitz, Camilla Schmitz, Matthew Schmitz (Justine and Alicia Schmitz), Tiffany Schmitz and Andrew Schmitz, Michael and Karen Geiger, Andrea, Megan and Erik Geiger, Martha and Earl Haag, Zachary, Jacob and Lucas Haag, Monica and Anthony Schmidt; Olivia (Ryan) O'Keefe; Taylor (Katie) Schmidt, (Malachi Schmidt), Monika (Nathan) Behnke and Anna Schmidt; Paul and Karen Geiger; Brandi (Tim) Trace; (Karter and Cale Trace), Adriane (Jeff) Thiel, (Rayna Thiel) and Robbie Kruse; Albert and Kay Lynn Geiger; Brooke, April and Breanna Geiger; Mary Ann and Steve Piepenburg; Miranda, Mitchell and Michelle Piepenburg; Simon and Rhonda Geiger, Adam, Stephanie and Philip Geiger; two sisters: Marge (Isadore) Brandl and Judy (Leonard) Denor; two brothers: Victor (Diana) Kopidlansky and Paul Kopidlansky; six sisters-in-law and eight brothers-in-law: Mary Kopidlansky; Ginny Chasensky; Hilaria Dvorachek; Bernard and Kathryn Geiger, Daniel and Beverly Geiger, Joseph Juckem; Elmer and Bernice Geiger; Michael and Delores Diny; Allen and Rita Wittmann; and Albert Brick. Also surviving are godchildren: Janet Geiger Juckem; Darlene Dvorachek Zirngibl; and Mary Jo Kopidlansky Haese.

She was preceded in death by a son: Gerald; a daughter: Barbara Schmitz; a granddaughter: Hannah Geiger; a great-grandson: Kean O'Keefe; her mother-in-law and father-in-law: Daniel and Ida Geiger Sr.; three sisters: Ann (Ray) Chasensky; Mary (Elmer) Reindl; and Catherine Kopidlansky; three brothers: Frank (Marge) Kopidlansky, Albert (Mary) Kopidlansky and Edward (Patricia) Kopidlansky; also preceded are three sisters-in-law: Joan Kopidlansky; Ida Juckem; and Germaine Brick; a brother-in-law: Edward Dvorachek, as well as a godchild: William Brandl.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 19, 2007, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion. The Rev. Mathew Simonar will officiate. Burial will be in the Kasson
Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion on Sunday, Feb. 18 from 3 to 8 p.m. and again at the church on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass.

Memorial funds have been established in Monica's name.
