Jack L. Sifferd, 64, of 241 Opekiska St. died Tuesdday, Jan 2, 1990 in Unicoi County Memorial Hospital. Mr. Sifferd was an Erwin native and the son of the late John abn Ina Abbott Sifferd.

He retired from the Signal Department of SCX Transportation after 35 years.

Mr. Sifferd was a World War II Navy Veteran and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Shirley Britton Sifferd; two daughters, Terry Grissom of Maryville and Libby Erwin of Erwin; three sons, Chuck of Orlando, Fla., Chip of Athens and Andy Sifferd of Erwin; two brothers, Hubert and Bab of Alabama; three sisters, Rebecca Sifferd, Mary Smith and Betty Griffith. *Source- Johnson City Press, Jan 4, 1990, Page 2
