Funeral services will be held Fri Sep 6 at the new Covelo Community Park for John Wesley "Wes" McNutt, 67, who died at his home in Covelo. The park was chosen because McNutt made it his entire life for the past 2 years, until last month when illness kept him from it. An active member of the Round Valley Lions Club, McNutt was instrumental in the design and constructioon of the new park. A 27 year resident of Covelo, McNutt was a native of Portales, NM. A veteran of the US Army, he came to this community from
Santa Maria. McNutt is survived by wife, Lorene McNutt of Covelo; four children, Francee White of Willits, Nadine Sanders of Covelo, Irma Brander of Pacifica and Terry McNutt of Ukiah; 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Also surviving are stepmother Maude McNutt of Tulare; 3 sisters, Jewel Butts of Visalia, Arloween Briggs of Riverside and Vera Ogletree of Roseville; 2 brothers, Claude McNutt of Visalia and Eddie McNutt of
Richmond, VA.
