Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be Thursday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Grace Bible Fellowship.
Alger Mae King was born May 30, 1911, in Ponotoc, Miss., the daughter of Ike and Jerel Carter King. She married Ervin E. Franks July 18, 1926, in Houston, Miss. He died April 16, 1984.
She retired in 1972 from the laundry department at the former Moline Public Hospital, after 20 years of service.
She was a member of Grace Bible Fellowship, Moline.
Alger loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed playing bingo.
Survivors (and spouses) include daughters, Betty Buchanan (Jack), Linda Nache, Dorothy Lopez (Louie), all of Moline, Jackie Lopez (Joe), Springfield, Ohio, and Sheila Rogers (John), Moline; sons, William Franks (Peggy), Erie, and David Franks (Joyce), Mountain Home, Ark.; 32 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by sons, Weldon and Winford Franks; daughters, Colleen Williams, Erma and Doris Franks; a granddaughter, Julie Franks; and a great-great-grandchild, Darin Williams.
