Staff Sgt. Donald L. Munn II of St. Clair Shores, Michigan, is a 2000 graduate of Lake Shore High School.

He attended Western Michigan University for a year before joining the United States Army. Donald was eager to defend his country. He had been in the military for five years serving as a Military Policeman. While in Germany, he met his future wife where they both were stationed together.

Donald was currently serving his second tour in Iraq and he had been scheduled to come home in October 2007, but his tour was extended to February of 2008. He died at age 25 in Baghdad of wounds sustained when an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated near his unit.

He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and the Purple Heart for his service in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

He leaves his wife Jennifer, their daughter Jordan, his mother Rae Richards-Randazzo, his father Donald Munn, his sister Courtney Pyles, and his two grandmothers Alice Munn and Dorothy Richards. His father died three years later.

He was laid to rest with full honors at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, California.
