He was born Nov. 24, 1981, in Park Ridge, to Steve and Judy Powers.
He loved racing BMX bikes, riding since he was 6 years old. He also completed the Harmon 100. He enjoyed snowboarding, long boarding and fishing.
He is survived by his parents; his brother, Kyle (fiancée Melissa Culley); his sister, J. Karen; his aunts and uncles, Tom (Susan) Reeder, James (Dale) Risley, Denny (Lauren) Rogers and Jim (Debbie) Barilow; his niece, Allison Rose Powers; and many great friends.
The visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, at Windridge Funeral Home, 104 High Rd. (just west of Route 14 and Main St.) Cary. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Christopher Powers Memorial Fund, c/o U.S. Bank, 55 E. Grand Ave., Fox Lake, IL 60020.
