Laura M. "Peggy" Holley, age 89
formerly of Hayts Corners, passed away at the home of her daughter, on Tuesday, November 3, 2009.
A private family service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at Covert Funeral Home, 7199 Main Street Ovid, NY, officiated by Rev. Diane Walker and Fr. Bart Minson. Prayers of committal will be held at Ovid Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation to the Geneva General Dialysis Center, 196 North Street, Geneva, NY 14456, where Laura received loving care for nearly 2 years.
Laura was born on December 6, 1919 in Ithaca, NY the only daughter of the late Patrick and Wilma (Barrus) Sullivan. She was married to Francis E. Holley on December 5, 1942, as newlyweds, they moved to Arizona for her husband's military service, and then they established their home in Hayts Corners, where the couple lived for nearly 60 years. Peggy dedicated her life to her family, and treasured her time spent with children, grandchildren and eventually great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Barbara (Gary) Alger of Ovid, John "Jack" (Linda) Holley of Ovid; grandchildren, Chris (Carol) Alger of Fulton, Shelley Reynolds of Ovid, Laurie (Andrew) Nass of Romulus, and Kathy Robinson of Ovid; great grandchildren, Joshua Alger, Mitchell and Abigail Alger, Brett Robinson, Holley Reynolds and Ethan King; by her husband's extended family and special friends, Cindy Doolittle and Donna Morrell. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Francis, a grandson, Michael Holley and by her brothers, William and Jack Sullivan.
