Early Life: Aubrey was born April 1, 1932, at Thornton Hospital in Missoula, Montana, to Wilfred and Katherine Chamberlain. At age 12, Aubrey began working on Montana ranches in return for his room and board.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: In 1950, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in June 1953. Aubrey was employed at Bonner Mill riding logs on the Blackfoot River until he was accepted for employment with the Missoula Fire Department. He worked there for 40 years and finished his career as a Battalion Chief. Aubrey enjoyed hunting in the East Fork of the Bitterroot and steelhead fishing along Idaho rivers with his sons, Mike and Pat. Family was important to him. He spent many hours on the floor playing with his grandchildren. Most days he stopped in at Ruby's Café for coffee and to visit with friends. He loved taking road trips. Aubrey was a generous and loyal husband, father and friend who is loved and will be missed by all who were blessed to know him. Aubrey Wilson Chamberlain, of Stevensville, Montana, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, August 29, 2013. He was 81.
Survived By: His wife, Agnes Chamberlain, of Stevensville; his two sons, Mike, of Clarkston, WA; and Pat (Kim), of Camarillo, CA; four stepdaughters: Patty Carrell, of Helena; Mary Carlson (Jim), of Bozeman; Emily Mesenbrink (Terry), of Billings; and Sarah Hale (Kevin), of Trophy Club, Texas; his brother, Chet; sisters, Janet Andrews (Howard) and Joyce Jensen (Don), all of Missoula; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
