DIED, at Keachi, La., the 19th, 1870, of flux, PRESTON PEYTON, only son of George W. and Callie Peyton, aged 6 months and 24 days.
Calm as a summer evening's sunset, the angel spirit of our little darling winged its flight to the home of Him who saith "Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not, for of such is the kingdom of Heaven." But, papa and mama, your little bright-eyed boy has only gone before. In that better land he awaits your doming, and Oh, precious thought, to have a ministering angel in heaven. Around the vacant crib hover feelings of utter desolation; but, happy thought, there is no more pain for little Pressie, but repose, eternal repose, in the arms of his Savior. Yes, little darling, in angelic loveliness, thy little body sleeps that sleep which knoweth no awakening, but thy unsullied spirit, now radiant with heaven's own glory, basks in the ineffable light of the paradise of God.
Pressie, darling, good bye, may we meet where tears and heart aches are no more.
