Samuel was the son of Andrew Sr. and Sarah Minor Dye.

Samuel's wife was Mary (Polly) Hufty. They married in 1803. After Samuel died Mary married a man named Knight, and then 1 Nov 1827, she married Samuel's brother Stephen Dye.

Regarding his estate, his widow, Polly, gave bond as administrator on 10 May 1814, with Stephen Dye, John M. Dye and Thomas Sayers. A receipt from the land office at Cincinnati dated 22 July 1816 for the final payment for the SE/4 Sec 19 Twp 2 Rge 9 entered 11 Dec 1811 is among the papers.
