Scott Farris arrived at the race course here on the 17th with three young flyers, which he expects to prepare for the fall meetings. He reports that he has bought out the other heirs' interest in the Eb Farris property and will likely move to it.

A large crowd attended the burial of Mr. Scott Farris at Crab Orchard, Friday afternoon and many a tear was shed as the body of the clever old gentleman was lowered into the grave. "Uncle Scott," as he was affectionately called, was popular with all classes and was an exceedingly entertaining and interesting character. His fondness for the race horse was most marked and until the last year or so he always had a good one or so to race. Mr. Farris was twice married, his first wife being Miss Sudie Vallour, of New Orleans. His second wife, who was Mrs. Teater, survives him. He would have been 70 years old had he been spared until next October, and until two years ago he enjoyed the best of health. There was never a kinder-hearted man nor one that would go further for a friend. Peace to his ashes and sympathy to those who mourn his death.
