ZECH — Passed away in Lethbridge on Wednesday September 8th, 1976. Walter John Zech aged 53 years. Beloved husband of Mrs. Mary Zech of Monarch.

Born in Nobleford where he was raised and attended school, he joined the Royal Canadian Engineers in 1942 and served until 1946.

He farmed in the Picture Butte and Nobleford district following his discharge. In 1958 he married Mary Carmichael in Lethbridge and they resided in Nobleford.

He worked as a mechanic for George Roeloffs in Monarch until 1967. He had been employed as a machine operator at the Noble Cultivators until his death. The family have resided in Monarch for the past three years. He was a member of the Lethbridge Pemican Club and the Fort Macleod full time Dance Club.

Besides his wife Mary, he is survived by one son David and one daughter Christina of Monarch; his mother Mrs. Louise Zech of Nobleford; four brothers Fred of Red Deer, Jack of Grand Forks, B.C., Ted of Calgary, Donald of Foremost; five sisters Mrs. Emma Smith and Mrs. Mildred McCurrah of Nobleford, Mrs. Louise Bowen of Pecton, Ontario, Mrs. Martha Poch of Pincher Creek, Mrs. Elsie Russell of Milk River.
