Clarence Medeiros, was born and raised in Oakland, California during the Depression years of the 1930's. He was a big help in providing essentials for his family, during these times such as gathering coal and wood to heat their home. He worked odd jobs while going to school and kept up with his school activities where he excelled in track and field, winning the 100 and 220 yard races for Roosevelt High School in Oakland. He was a member of St. Anthony's Church in Oakland where he was baptized.

He met Blanche Rugh (D-1974) in early 1935 and they would soon marry and raise three wonderful sons, living in Oakland and Castro Valley. He worked the family business, Cy's Place, a tavern and restaurant near where he was born. During the 2nd World War he worked at Todd Shipyards in Alameda building Liberty Ships for America. After the war he would continue running the business and later sold it to pursue other interests, working at Atkinson Lumber Mill in Oakland for many years.

He retired and moved to Merced and enjoyed life with his wife, Jackie (D.2003) and family and friends. During this time he was Head Usher at St Patrick's Church in Merced. Later he would move to Oakdale to be closer to his oldest son and his family. As he grew older he moved to the Stratford Assisted Living Home where he started playing pool and won trophies for the best player and beat the younger guys. He was playing and winning up to a week before passing with his friend John Young. It was a joy he shared with everyone.

Toward the end of his journey on earth his health started to fade just three months prior to reaching his 100th Birthday. He always had stories to share with the younger generations and throughout his life he enjoyed bowling, baseball and football. He was a great athlete and could talk all day long about sports. He also won the Checker Championship in Oakland and took great enjoyment beating the grandchildren in checkers. He loved life and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

He is predeceased by his parents Antone and Mary Medeiros. Beloved wives, Blanche I., Grace, Opal "Jackie" Medeiros. Sisters, Josephine, Isabelle, Flora and Brother, Ernest. Son Gordon L. Medeiros and Grandson Michael Medeiros. He is survived by his sons, Robert G. (LInda), Gary L. (Margarette) and daughter-in-law Shirley Medeiros.
