Guntown/Saltillo - Gladys Moveline Harper McGill entered into the heavenly gardens with Jesus on Saturday February 20, 2016, at Sanctuary Hospice House. Gladys was born July 23, 1922, to Esker and Myrtle Harper. On April 23, 1938, Gladys married the love of her life, Edd McGill, and they were married 59 years and 10 months. She was employed for 21 years with the Union County School District at East Union Attendance Center. Gladys loved her children, grandchildren, great-grands, and great-great grands, her extended family, friends, caregivers and church family. She spent the last four years at Saltillo Assisted Living being taken wonderful care of by very special caregivers who were like family. Her very, very favorite hobby was working in her beautiful flowers and vegetable garden and crocheting.

Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday February 22 at the Jericho Baptist Church at with Bro. Adrian Horne, Bro. Marvin Robbins and Bro. Neal Davis officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge cemetery.

Those left to cherish her memory and life lessons are her children; daughter, Aletha (Bob) Adderholt of Saltillo; sons, Wayne (Pat) McGill of Ripley, Jerry (Betty Jane) McGill of Alpine, Bobby (Peggy) McGill of Jericho, and Mickey (Donna Kay) McGill of Jericho. Grandchildren; Amy Wiginton (Scotty) of Ellistown, Lori (Ken) Daves of Benton, AK., Derek (Renee) McGill of Saltillo, Kevin McGill of Memphis, Michael (Jennifer) McGill of Guntown, Shannon (Michele) McGill of Huntsville, AL, Jamie (Michelle) McGill of Tremont, Shara (Curt) Minton of Oxford, and Jonathan Adderholt of Austin, TX. 3 step-grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 8 step great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren and 10 step great-great grandchildren. A sister Martha Denton of Cordova, TN. She had a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Esker Harper and Myrtle Hill Harper, her husband Edd McGill, and two brothers James and Melvis Harper.

Pallbears will be her grandsons.

Honorary pallbearers will be her grand sons-in-law, Hazel Barnes, and Amber Young.

Visitation will be at Waters Funeral Home Sunday February 21, 2016 from 5:00-8:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Sanctuary Hospice House.
